An exciting opportunity has arisen for Staff Nurses with experience in paediatrics to join our Nightingale ward and the new Paediatric assessment units dedicated children’s nursing team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. You will need to be able to work within the acute hospital environment on Nightingale Children’s ward and be responsible for allocated children’s care. You will liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent care delivery for your children. You will be a qualified Staff Nurse with either RSCN/RN Child or RN with experience of working with children and young people and families in an acute health setting. The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, along with excellent communication skills and teamwork, are essential to this post. Main duties of the job

Nightingale ward is a general paediatric ward. You will care for children aged from 6 hours to 16 years, working closely within the multidisciplinary team. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Qualifications and Training

RSCN Qualification or RN with acute health experience of working with children. 998 Teaching qualification (or equivalent) RSCN/RN Child (or equivalent) Post registration experience in Paediatric health environment Experience

Experience working with children in a healthcare setting Understanding of principles of Safeguarding Children Experience with children with additional / complex / chronic health care needs. Experience of Safeguarding children work Health and Safety Knowledge Skills and Knowledge

Clinical Skills Evidence of continuing professional development Infection Control knowledge in acute care Ability to use initiative, to take charge in the absence of the sister/Deputy ward leader Ability to prioritise workload Personal Attributes
