Are you an experienced Paediatric Staff Nurse or a newly qualified Staff Nurse who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care to children, young people and their families? If your answer is YES, we want you to come and join our team on the Treehouse Children’s Unit at Stepping Hill Hospital.

The Treehouse Unit is looking for experienced or newly qualified Staff Nurses to join our team. You will be supported by a fabulous team and our Paediatric Clinical Nurse Educators who will develop your personal development plan which will include senior band 5 training days, HDU course and APLS course.

We are a 20 bedded acute paediatric ward, with 8 paediatric assessment beds, a surgical 'Walk In Walk Out' service and 2 HDU beds. We care for children and young people with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions. Specialist nursing teams are available to support this care delivery, including a Mental Health Practice Educator who also provides supervision and bespoke training.

We will provide you with support to further progress your career, including a wide variety of training opportunities. We will offer you a bespoke development plan, tailored to your unique career aspirations.

Responsibility for Patient Care:

Assessing the individual's care needs, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment. Working in partnership with relatives and carers to develop and implement/improve standards of patient care. Liaising with staff from multi-disciplines in matters relating to patient care and equipment relevant to nursing care. Maintain accurate and timely patients’ records and documentation ensuring confidentiality. To uphold the Trust’s dignity and respect standards. Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines. Using professional judgements is able to analyse a range of patient conditions and act appropriately. Maintaining high standards of patient care by personal example and professional conduct. Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

If successful, this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
