Our client is the major Health facility on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse to join their busy mixed Paediatric Inpatient Ward team. The Paediatric Unit is a nine-bedded ward, providing all Acute Paediatric care for the States of Guernsey, and as such would suit a Paediatric Nurse seeking an opportunity to utilise and develop a wide range of skills. Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale. The current Band 5 salary range is £36,900 to £47,590 plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH. Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave. The island of Guernsey is in the Channel Islands and has a population of 65,000. It has some of Britain's finest and best-kept beaches, an especially mild and sunny climate, and an offbeat, historic harbor town in St. Peter's Port, the island's capital. The States of Guernsey delivers a diverse range of healthcare services within the hospital, and supporting people in the wider community. Their Health Service provides excellent Paediatric care, supported by modern equipment and Nurses recruited to a very high standard. Person requirements

Registered Nurse with full NMC registration. Current or recent experience in a General Paediatric Inpatient Ward, ideally with a mixture of both Medical and Surgical inpatients. Neonatal experience is desirable but not essential, but an interest in rotating to the neighbouring 3-cot Neonatal Unit would be an advantage. Newly qualified Paediatric Nurses are welcome to apply depending on current staffing levels. Nurses on the Adult/General register, with at least four years full-time experience in an Acute Paediatric Inpatient Ward setting may be considered, depending on current numbers of Paediatric-registered Nurses in post at the time of application.
