The Paint Strip Technician is responsible for ensuring that aircraft landing gear components are effectively and safely stripped of paint according to company procedures, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to quality assurance.

Tasks

The

Paint Strip Technician 's main tasks are: To hand degrease/machine wash commercial aircraft components. To load and unload large degrease/paint softening tanks. To load and operate plastic media blast booths; internally and externally. To check components are clean and protected from damage in redlines for inspection. An awareness of the Major Accident Prevention Plan (MAPP). To ensure that the part is protected from being damaged. Operating cranes. All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures. An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures. You will be required to maintain a Practical Experience Record (PER) book. You may be required to train personnel in a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements: GCSE 9-5 grades or equivalent Apprenticeship within Engineering Previous Paint Strip experience would be desirable Illustrate previous knowledge and experience of use of hand tools Good knowledge, awareness, and understanding of PPE and Manual Handling It would be preferable but not essential for the applicant to have worked in an aerospace environment Great team player Good communicator Punctual and reliable Honest and trustworthy Ability to work under own initiative Able to follow instructions and learn/absorb working methods Excellent approach to Quality and Health and Safety Please note
