Palliative Care Staff Nurse

Band 5

Woking and Sam Beare Hospice In Patient Unit is looking for a passionate dynamic and enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our incredible team. Here at the hospice, we pride ourselves on giving exceptionally high standards of care to patients and their families through some of the most challenging times of their lives. Our charity-based service specialises in palliative and end of life care for patients with complex life limiting illnesses who live in the North-West Surrey area. Some of the ways we provide such high standards is through fantastic staff to patient ratios that leave our patients and families feeling like they are always a priority. Our environment is clean, warm and homely to ensure all that come through our services feel safe and comfortable. In addition to the wonderful environment, we have a keen focus on education and development. Our education team supports excellent training sessions taught by our in-house experts. Furthermore, our staff are encouraged and supported to increase their professional skills through courses and university modules. Recent examples of our commitment to developing our team include: NA to RN apprenticeships HCA to NA apprenticeships CNS supported and developed to join our medical team as a Non-Medical Prescriber/ANP Staff Nurse to Senior Staff Nurse Senior Staff Nurse into Clinical Nurse Specialist positions in our community team. “In the short time I have worked at the Hospice, I have been really supported by the team I work within. Palliative Care Staff Nurse band 5:

will be: A key member of the multi-disciplinary team. Possessing excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Utilising advanced nursing skills and knowledge. A compassionate nurse who will play a key role in planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based individualised nursing care. Capable of leading and motivating others. Engaging in the development of the ward. Focusing on improving care and ensuring best practice at all times. A successful candidate will have: Current NMC Registration. RN educated to Diploma or Degree level. Evidence of recent professional updating and relevant personal development. Palliative care qualification (or willingness to complete). Mentorship qualification (or willingness to complete). UK Registration. Disclosure and Barring Service Check. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
