About this Role: As a Paralegal supporting a Partner in Estates, Wills, and Property, you’ll play a crucial role in client service and practice management. Bring your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach to help our team deliver excellent client care.
Key Responsibilities: Manage client intake, conduct conflict searches, and open new files. Schedule meetings and manage the lawyer’s calendar, including setting court dates. Track filing deadlines and prepare client documents. Draft routine correspondence and organize client report books. Maintain electronic and paper files, handle mail, and coordinate document processing. Draft estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, and personal care directives.
Gather Probate Application information and drafting probate documents. Monitor progress of estates administration, including preparation of inventories, advertisements for creditors, and applications to close estates. Conduct property searches, manage tax certificates and payments, and organize mortgage payouts. Process wire transfers and manage financial requests. What You Bring: Experience: Graduate of a Legal Assistant or Paralegal diploma program. Paralegal experience in Estates, Wills, and Property preferred.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, proofreading, communication, and time management skills. Mindset: Team player with a positive approach, take initiative, able to work independently, and problem solver. Tech Proficiency: Experience with Outlook, MS Office, and document management systems. Familiarity with Athennian, Closing Folders, PropertyOnline, and ProLaw is a bonus.
