Our client is a Devon-based modern law practice, with a strong heritage of over 200 years, based in Plymouth with satellite offices in Plympton & Plymstock. They have a diverse client base which they are still expanding. We have an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal to join the Family Department at this professional law firm in Plymouth. This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded and well-established team. The purpose of this role is to assist and support the Family Team. There will be a focus on Divorce including Financial settlements, Private law children matters, Domestic Abuse and a mixture of private and legally aided work. The role will focus on supporting the other members of the team with their caseloads. Initially much of the work will consist of drafting divorce petitions, assisting with collating financial disclosure, processing legal aid applications, drafting applications to court and similar tasks. The job is very varied on a day-to-day basis and you will gain a understanding of all areas of Family law as part of the team. There will be an opportunity to work from home one or two days per week once you are trained in the role. The ideal candidate will have:- Previous experience of working in a similar role Be degree and LPC educated is desirable but not essential Ability to manage own workload and work within a team Excellent communication skills and a professional work attitude Excellent telephone manner Modern IT skills Organisational Skills Strong attention to detail Enthusiasm to develop a career in this area Commitment to the firm and the ability to provide a confident and positive input Benefits: Competitive Salary Five weeks’ annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus 2 days over the Christmas period.
