Ilford, Essex Full-time in office, Permanent Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience Our client is a regional lettings company that are now recruiting for a Paralegal due to growth of the business and workload. Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for property law? Our client, a reputable regional lettings company is seeking a Paralegal to support their legal team in handling property possession claims in the County Court. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic team where you will be assisting in all aspects of case management, document preparation, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of UK property law, particularly with possession claims, and be familiar with County Court procedures. Key Responsibilities: Case Management: Support in managing a caseload of property possession claims, ensuring all deadlines and court procedures are met. Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents, including possession claims, witness statements, and court bundles. Client & Third-Party Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, court staff, and third parties, providing case updates and gathering necessary information. Court Procedures: Prepare and file documents with the County Court, assist with monitoring court dates, and arrange representation at hearings. Legal Research: Conduct legal research related to property law and possession claims, supporting solicitors and legal executives. Administrative Support: Maintain accurate case files (both electronic and paper-based), assist with billing, and carry out other administrative tasks as required. Compliance: Ensure full compliance with court protocols, deadlines, and client requirements. Skills & Qualifications: Education: Minimum A-levels; legal qualification (e.g., Legal Practice Course or equivalent) preferred. Experience: Previous experience in a legal support role, ideally within property law and possession claims, is highly desirable. Knowledge: A strong understanding of UK property law, particularly relating to possession claims and County Court procedures. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, solicitors, and court staff. Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. IT Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal case management systems, and court filing platforms (e.g., HMCTS Online). Team Player: A collaborative approach and the ability to work well within a team.
