This is an exciting opportunity to join Bury Council’s Family Help Service and help with our ‘Let’s Do it for Children’ vision. We are looking for two experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated parenting practitioners initially for a 1-year fixed term position. We currently offer Triple-P parenting on a one-to-one basis, and will be offering a range of Solihull Parenting Approach Programmes and the Who’s in Charge? Programme from March 2025. About You

To help us achieve our ambitions for children and families we are looking for two dedicated parenting practitioners who will be responsible for coordinating Bury’s parenting programmes for Family Help & Children’s Social Care; ensuring that parents / carers have access to the right parenting support & programmes as and when needed across all stages of their child’s life. You will be responsible for facilitating group parenting programmes, as well as coordinating the delivery of group and one-to-one parenting programmes across the borough. We will have a robust offer, and a rolling programme of parenting courses available, in person and virtual which will be managed by you as the parenting practitioner. You will be responsive to local need, ensuring that targeted programmes are offered in neighbourhoods when needed. The parenting practitioners will regularly evaluate the parenting programme’s being delivered, ensuring that positive outcomes are being achieved for children, young people and families. Where need necessitates in local areas, ‘pop-up parenting’ workshops will be created and delivered to target specific need i.e., preparing parenting for children transitioning into primary or secondary school. Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week, however, this will be flexible dependent on service requirements, and you may be required to work on a rota basis. You will need to hold a professional and / or academic NVQ / Diploma Level 2 qualification or equivalent in a related field, i.e., Health & Social Care, Social Work / Education / Teaching, Youth Work etc. We strive to provide a supportive and dynamic work environment for our employees with a strong focus on support, training and development and health and wellbeing.
