We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-to-one support for a child with ASD in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This part-time role is ideal for someone with experience in SEN support who is looking to make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment. Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-to-one support for a child with ASD in the EYFS. Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans. Use appropriate strategies and resources to engage and support the child's learning and development. Foster a positive and nurturing environment to help the child feel safe, confident, and valued. Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure consistent support. Requirements:
Previous experience working with children in EYFS. Knowledge of sensory needs and experience in implementing sensory-based learning or therapeutic activities. Patience, understanding, and the ability to keep students on task. Familiarity with communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication systems. Empathy and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working closely with teachers, specialists, and parents. Ability to provide personal care, if required. A relevant qualification in SEN support or childcare (desirable but not essential) e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Autism Awareness, Makaton, etc. Apply Today!
