Thursday 13th February 2025 . This is a fantastic opportunity to join Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. Our corporate staff are vital in helping to make our communities safer and healthier. As a Civil Contingencies Officer in the Civil Contingencies Unit you will: Provide expert, specialist, professional, practical and authoritative emergency planning and business continuity advice, support and guidance in accordance with the principles of Integrated Emergency Management (IEM). Create, deliver and develop appropriate response plans, protocols, and training as required. Establish and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies, representing the Dorset Civil Contingencies Unit at meetings or events. Support the coordination of multi-agency debriefs and ensure recommendations are recorded. Chair and lead multi-agency Task and Finish Groups and Standing Capability Groups of the Dorset Local Resilience Forum. What makes you our ideal Civil Contingencies Officer? A recognised emergency planning qualification to degree level, or significant experience in a relevant organisation. Sound knowledge of legislation pertaining to emergency planning including the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude to customer care. High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and manage outcomes. Other Information: You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the role. The role involves some evening and weekend working, especially when covering Duty Week on a one in six-week basis. A
