We have a new additional part-time post for a dietitian who will lead, plan and deliver the clinical dietetic service for the critical care unit at Ealing Hospital. We are looking for a dietitian with experience working in artificial nutrition support in critical care. You will have a varied and interesting caseload both in critical care and surgical/medical wards. You will actively participate in developing the service both clinically and strategically and participate in peer review. The post holder will carry out regular clinical audits in this specialist area. We are looking for a forward-thinking dietitian who can demonstrate good communication, organisation, and leadership skills to work within a small friendly, pro-active department. They will also need to be a good communicator with excellent organisational and time management skills and an ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team. Main duties of the job
To be responsible for providing highly specialist nutritional care to complex patients on the Intensive Care Unit and other wards at Ealing Hospital. To provide a service to and support more junior team members in the support of patients with complex nutrition support needs on other wards of the hospital. To supervise more junior staff on a day-to-day basis. To ensure that research and audit is undertaken on a regular basis to ensure that practice is evidence-based. To act as an expert resource on the nutritional management of patients during critical illness and educate and train dietetic students and other health care professionals within the trust. To be actively involved in the trust's clinical governance programme by taking a leadership role in ensuring continuing professional development, audit, research and service development activities within this specialist area. Education and qualifications
Degree and postgraduate study. PENG course or advanced BDA course. Knowledge and experience
Extensive experience in acute hospital for a range of patients. Experience in organizing for enteral and parenteral discharges from NHS hospital.
