Part-time, Senior Musician (Upper or Lower Strings, or Wind)
Big Noise Douglas in Dundee is currently seeking a part-time Senior Musician specialising in Upper or Lower Strings, or Wind instruments. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to utilising the orchestra as a tool for enhancing children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, and understanding through music, from pre-school age to adulthood. Responsibilities include supporting the Head of Centre in developing the programme within the Douglas community, leading trips and events, mentoring staff, and expanding work in areas such as youth voice and community engagement. Applicants must have experience in music education or community music settings, demonstrated leadership skills, and a proven ability to instruct children in their specialist instrument. This permanent role requires a 28-hour commitment from Monday to Thursday throughout the year. Interested applicants should submit their applications by 10am on Friday, 15th March 2024. The selection process, taking place in Douglas, Dundee, will involve a panel interview, a competency task, a short audition, and a demonstration lesson.
