About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Disability Social Care 0-25 Service as a part-time Team Manager.

As the Team Manager of the Disabled Children’s Referral & Access Team you will be working alongside the Children with Disabilities Team (0-18) and the Young Adults Team (18-25). You will also work closely with our in-house providers of short breaks, health and education professionals and a range of private and voluntary organisations. Experience of partnership working and networking is therefore essential, as well as experience of delegating tasks and the ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.

We pride ourselves on providing our Social Workers and alternatively qualified staff with a friendly, safe and supportive environment to work. As a Team Manager in the Disabled Childrens Referral & Access Team you will be vital in providing this.

You will be able to think on your feet in terms of case allocation and understanding thresholds. You will have proven experience at being able to thrive in a busy environment and will have demonstrated resilience.

Prior experience and understanding of SEND is therefore essential, in addition to having a safeguarding background and experience in managing risk.

You will be working 18.5 hours a week. This post will primarily be based out of the Buttsgrove Centre in Huntingdon, but with the ability to work from home as part of a hybrid model. Please note the Council is currently undergoing an accommodation improvement programme that will result in some office moves over the next 12-18 months, and this team will operate from a different location within the County.  In most cases the new location will be close to the current one, but the Recruiting Manager will discuss this with you if you are selected for interview.
