You will engage in a dynamic mix of consulting and surgical duties within a thriving first opinion practice, complemented by both visiting specialists and in-house expertise.
The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience and be comfortable with sole charge responsibilities when necessary. We seek a friendly, adaptable team player with exceptional communication and customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, and attention to detail. The ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, coupled with compassion towards animals and their owners, is essential. A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle are required, as branch coverage across East Lothian may be necessary at any time.

Here at Links, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We offer flexible rota patterns and working hours to accommodate your personal needs and priorities. Whether you prefer fixed or flexible work patterns, we are committed to finding the right solution for you. This part-time permanent role operates 17 hours across 3 days per week with flexible shift patterns starting between 8am and 11.30am. We are committed to providing 24-hour care to ensure our patients receive outstanding attention at any time, offering our staff valuable exposure to emergency and critical care. We highly value out-of-hours (OOH) contributions and generously compensate with ample time off. Currently, the rota includes 1 in 8 weekends, evenings, and night shifts, primarily based at our Haddington surgery with occasional branch cover across our 5 locations. Why join us?

Our flagship Haddington branch features state-of-the-art facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, a dental suite, two dedicated operating theatres, a prep room, separate cat and dog wards, and 4 spacious consult rooms. We host visiting specialists in orthopedics and ophthalmology, and actively support staff development with ongoing certificate programs. With excellent transport links to Edinburgh, joining our team means you can enjoy both the serene countryside and the vibrant city life. Our experienced team comprises 17 Veterinary Surgeons, 15 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and a dedicated Reception and Support team.
