Patient Services Clerk

- Admin Services - CCCL Liverpool & Paddington Community Diagnostic Centre

Shift Pattern:

Rotational shift pattern, 0800-1400 and 1400-2000 working Mon-Fri with occasional weekend and bank holidays when required.

The Patient Services Clerk has a varied role which spans a number of different work areas. The tasks below describe the type of duties appropriate for the role; however, depending on where the post holder is placed, not all of the tasks may be carried out and there may be additional duties specific to that work area expected and within the remit of the role.

Key Responsibilities: Provide a professional, friendly and effective virtual reception service directly to patients and relatives. Liaise with volunteer staff to ensure that visitors are escorted and supported. Support patients during their inpatient ward stays and outpatient appointments. Provide administrative support to the clinical teams.

Our work is complex, interesting, specialised and driven by tight deadlines. As such, it is essential that you have good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. A comprehensive induction programme provides new staff with the basic framework they need to undertake their role, but it is essential that you have previous office experience, ideally in an NHS environment.

You will have a good standard of education including English and Maths, excellent computer skills, and experience of competently handling virtual appointments and telephone enquiries.

We have a Department Team Charter which encourages a fair, positive and pleasant working environment, and we are looking for the right people to contribute to our team. We're here to deliver the best cancer care to the people we serve and we're looking for applications from those who share that commitment and our values: Putting people first; Achieving excellence; Passionate about what we do; Always improving our care; and Looking to the future.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of three specialist cancer centres in England. With 1,800 specialist staff and three sites, we are one of the largest NHS providers of non-surgical cancer treatment. The Trust has a unique multi-site care model serving the 2.4 million population across Cheshire and Merseyside and is consistently rated by patients as one of the best performing hospitals.

Our vision is to not only maintain this level of commitment to excellence but to work with our academic and healthcare partners across the region to ensure care, treatment, and patient outcomes continuously improve in the future. We are very proud of all our expert and loyal staff and we welcome people who share the collective aim of delivering excellence in everything that we do.

Our values represent who we are and what we believe in. They define how we act to deliver the best possible care for our patients and shape The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre as a great place to work.
