Our ski patrollers priority is to ensure a safe and enjoyable ski area environment for all guests and staff by maintaining the highest possible standards of service, safety and professionalism. This is a seasonal position, reporting to the Patrol & Medical Head of Department. In this role, you will assist the Head of Department to deliver the company purpose and mission statements and the department objectives and lead an established team who have built a reputation for exceptional service and delivery. You'll be a great team player with a strong safety background who thrives in a positive work environment and works hard to achieve the best possible atmosphere for both customers and fellow staff. About the Role You will be required to motivate, develop and lead a team within the Patrol department In conjunction with the Patrol Head of Department, undertake staff recruitment, training, development, administration and performance management Multi-task, problem solve and work well under pressure Previous experience in rostering, staff appraisals and on-the-job training would be considered an advantage Manage trail open and closures and ensure trails are sign posted accordingly Assist with avalanche control Monitor weather and changes in conditions and maintain records Administer first aid as required Coordinate patient evacuation from the ski area to the medical centre About You Previous experience is considered a definite advantage and supporting references must be provided The ability to quickly build a rapport with all guests and staff, coupled with strong team work skills You must be comfortable working in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions Good knowledge of ski area snow conditions, and the ability to ski or snowboard expertly in all weather on all terrain A commitment to on going training and development throughout the season An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed Skills and Qualifications Qualifications in Pre-hospital Emergency Care Avalanche Safety Stage 1 is compulsory proof of which must be provided Further Information Payrate: $30 - $38 per hour Full time, minimum 30 hours per week, fixed term
