The Opportunity:

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our Canterbury team as a Paving Department Manager. In this role, you will ultimately be responsible for effectively managing the safety, quality, efficiency and financial success of the Asphalt Paving Department.

In addition to the above you will:

Effectively manage client relationships to ensure continued success

Be responsible for preparation of estimates and tendering

Oversee daily operational activities including resourcing, programming of works, contractual operations and obligations

Manage financial performance, reporting, ensuring optimisation of financial outcomes

Evaluate performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Manage the training and development of staff while fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience in managing multiple asphalt paving projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and efficient use of resources

Extensive knowledge of asphalt products and paving methodologies

Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and procedures

A focus on safety and compliance

The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work

Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong focus on people, safety and quality

Problem solving abilities

You will be a supportive and collaborative leader with a passion for developing and growing talent. You will also have strong financial and business acumen.
