Role Description We are looking for a motivated people person, with a keen eye for detail. Working in a Payments team is a fast-moving role, and the ideal candidate should feel comfortable in a busy environment where they can make a difference to a team throughout the day, grow and learn within the team. Principal Accountabilities To key inbound and outbound payments for the bank including Customer Payments, Invoice payments, Refunds, etc. You’ll be responsible for making payments and dealing with payment queries, engaging with Customer Support, Credit Operations, Asset Finance or Relationship Managers. To proactively identify areas for process improvement and seek new and innovative ways to better serve the way of working. Work amongst the Payment Operations team to deliver a seamless service for both internal and external customers. Ensure Annual Mandatory Training and all other required training is scheduled and met personally and across the team. To live and breathe the Bank's core values. Personal Attributes & Experience Previous experience in Payments (inbound and outbound payments). Experience in financial services. Experience using core banking systems. Experience in dealing with complex payment queries. Experience of core processes (e.g., payments processing, complaints, reconciliation, Direct debit management, general payment queries). Experience in working with workflow/task management tools. Knowledge of financial services rules and guidelines. Excellent oral and written skills as they will be constantly communicating with the team and the wider business. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment – with a constant focus on delivery. Enthusiastic and articulate, whilst being motivated by a need to help people. Organisational and good time management skills. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Conform to our ethical standards and conduct. Act as an ambassador/advocate for Customers within the Bank. Adhere to quality control requirements and ensure compliance with policy.
