Payroll Officer Vacancy - based in Coventry, CV1

Job Purpose: Processes various payrolls in a timely and accurate manner. Creates and maintains employees' payroll records. Calculates wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and timesheet records. Enters payroll information into the central system for processing. Prepares payroll reports and journals in accordance with client's individual requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Monthly, weekly, 4 weekly, fortnightly payrolls Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes CIS returns Answers client questions about wages, deductions, attendance Verifying Subcontractors Pension Contributions (Nest, People's Pension, Smart Pension, Scottish Widow, Legal & General) Set up PAYE & Pension Schemes/Auto enrolment duties Admin (Banking, Repayments) Dealing with general client queries (Payrolls, pensions, HMRC) Uploads reports and payslips to Acting Office, Sage, Xero Software Process requests for leave and other absences if instructed Ensures client is aware of their tax obligations by providing tax month-end information and explanations behind this if needed Performs upload of files to clients bank accounts if requested for transfer of funds Person Specification: The ideal candidate will have payroll processing experience. Familiarity with Sage payroll software would be advantageous. Excellent communication and customer service skills and a collaborative team worker is essential. Previous experience of working in a bureau setting will be beneficial but not essential. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy. A team player who works effectively with others.
