About the role As the Payroll Officer for Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd you will ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time for all employees within the organisation. You will be required to assist with various payroll functions, including data entry, record maintenance, and payroll processing. You will have meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: · Compile payroll data and input all data changes into the payroll system in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail. · Assist in processing overtime, call out payments, sickness, pensions, invoices, bonus, starters, leavers and deductions. · Manage payroll inbox – first point of contact, dealing with queries in a timely manner. · Provide advice to staff and managers in relation to pay, taxation and National Insurance and pensions. · Running payroll reports and reconciliations · Help to maintain the IRIS system – creating/updating templates, workflows, processes and screens where necessary. · Support the DBS applications for staff. · Issuing P45s and final payslips · Filing (electronically) · Cover for HR officer during periods of annual leave. · Other ad hoc tasks as required. Qualifications and experience required. · Previous knowledge/working experience of Payroll (qualification preferable) · Understanding of UK payroll compliance · Ability to perform tax/leave calculations. · Proficient in Excel/Word (vlookups and pivots) Excel testing will be required · Excellent administrative and organisational skills · Confident communication style and able to deal with queries efficiently and competently.
