Come join the Small Business & Self-Employed Group as our UK Accounting, Direct Tax & Payroll Compliance Analyst supporting our UK offerings. This position is for a passionate individual who is willing to speak up and debate key issues involving UK accounting and payroll, including legislative change and its impact on QuickBooks products. This will support and cover both UK accounting for small business and for the self-employed. They will also support and cover our UK payroll offering. A person with high self-motivation who enjoys working in cross-functional teams. Has excellent communication skills, being able to speak both in detail and at a high level on UK requirements. You will be utilising your accountant’s knowledge to help ensure the UK product is compliant with local accounting rules. If there are areas of concern, highlight this to the relevant product team and work to resolve the issue. Any new or changes to accounting, direct tax and payroll legislation will need to be documented and then you will work with the relevant product team to prioritise the work to meet government timelines. Working as part of a small team of experts. The position will be based in London. Responsibilities

Research, analyse, and document UK accounting & legislative changes to ensure that QuickBooks Small Business products are up to date. Understand the compliance and what/how or if it impacts our customers. Research, analyse, and document UK payroll & legislative changes to ensure that QuickBooks Small Business products are up to date. Provide and maintain suitable test scenarios for annual tax updates. Communicate UK accounting, direct tax & payroll legislation so it can be turned into easy-to-use software working with our engineering, design, and product management teams, ensuring they understand the impact on our end users. Ensure UK accounting direct tax & payroll accreditation and e-file recognition on released and supported products. Deliver changes to Corporation and Personal tax via a system similar to Excel. Need excellent Excel skills. Develop skills to prepare written or verbal presentations to other business teams to communicate any of the above. Create task plans for own work that are independent of but related to broader work-plans. Support accounting queries from across the QuickBooks product teams. Minimum Requirements

Accounting degree or similar. Accountant with membership to a relevant accountancy body. Expert understanding of UK accounting, direct tax & payroll legislation and compliance. Understanding of software engineering and development practices preferable. A track record of working with geographically dispersed teams. Working knowledge of business process and analytical tools. Basic understanding of systems development lifecycles as it pertains to production support. Knowledge of accounting legislation in other geos. Ability to communicate with all levels within an organisation. Advanced business knowledge of functional areas.
