We are recruiting for a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Assistant Practitioner to take up a full-time role within our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team. Although located at Shire Hall in Gloucester, the role will entail work outside of normal working hours and at locations across the county, including in our Locality, Hospital and Learning Disabilities teams. About the role:
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach for providing long-term support to people with learning disabilities and autism, including those with mental health conditions, who display, or may be at risk of developing, behaviours of concern. The PBS Assistant Practitioner works in partnership with PBS Practitioners and PBS Specialists to support with the development of Behaviour Support Plans (BSP’s) and Functional Assessments; this will include working with individuals, their families, carers and other professionals and organisations. The PBS Assistant Practitioner will also work across the county to develop knowledge around PBS frameworks.
About You:
As a PBS Assistant Practitioner, you will have the chance to make a real positive impact on people’s lives, utilising your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. Using your significant knowledge of the PBS framework and experience of working with vulnerable adults, you will support the development of BSP’s and contribute to the development of the service. You will be an active participant of your team supporting the development of others and be committed to your own professional and self-development.
To join us, you must: Have a NVQ4 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care or relevant experience Have working knowledge of the legislative and Positive Behaviour Support frameworks, theory, and practice; including the PBS competencies outlined by the PBS academy Be highly organised with a solution focused, logical and innovative approach to challenges Be able to prioritise, using a risk-based approach
