The following are the main core responsibilities of a salaried GP. These will vary as workload dictates. Provision of care as detailed in the Primary Care Contract. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance. Effective management of acute and long term conditions. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions and other administrative tasks. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance. Accepting an equal share of the practice workload by working collaboratively. Work towards innovative practice and quality improvements within the practice. Assist in the work towards completing QOF across all practices. Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required. Support training of medical students from all clinical disciplines, this includes having students sitting in on clinics. Participate in practice audits as requested.
