£35-45k DOE + benefits My client is looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Facilities Manager with a Manufacturing background to join their team! This well-established business needs a well-qualified Health and Safety professional with experience working in a high-risk environment, containing a range of machinery to join them. This is a standalone role with room to grow as the company are at an exciting point of expansion, which will involve carrying out a variety of duties, including but not exclusively the following: Health and Safety

Acting as a 'hands on' leader, present on the production floor, assessing current processes and implementing new systems where necessary. Overall responsibility for compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation: ensuring adherence to all relevant health, safety and environmental legal requirements as well as best practice guidance. Responsible for ensuring processes and procedures are understood and followed by developing exceptional relationships with managers and production staff, to achieve buy in, inspiring a culture of adherence to Health and Safety processes. Risk Management: conducting regular risk assessments, including internal and external audits, implementing preventative measures and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Incident investigation and reporting: thorough accident and near miss investigations, accurately reporting and putting in place corrective measures. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of management systems. Monitoring of document management; extensive reporting with presentation to SMT. Carring out internal audits and reporting on the outcome. Conducting and supporting managers with inductions for new employees, ensuring they are aware of all H&S policies and procedures. Training and Development: responsible for ongoing training and development of all staff across the site in relation to health and safety, risk mitigation and DSEAR. Emergency management: developing and implementing emergency response plans in a high-risk environment. Facilities Management

Responsible for maintaining stock: catering, stationery, hygiene and washroom, PPE. Supplier management: contractors, cleaners, hired equipment. Ensuring timely servicing and maintenance of equipment, working with the Maintenance Engineers. Accurate document management and record keeping ensuring compliance with regulations. Overseeing all repairs and maintenance of the building and site. Responding to any internal queries regarding facilities. There will be monthly travel to another site in the Southeast as an essential requirement for this role! To be a contender for this Health and Safety Manager role you will have:

Significant experience working in a Health and Safety role within a Manufacturing environment, with a proven track record on the shop floor, solving SHEQ problems and identifying improvements. Good knowledge of DSEAR. Previous experience within a food production environment would be an advantage. Experience in facilities management. Achieved the NEBOSH general certificate (Level 3) as a minimum. Knowledge and experience of management systems. A meticulous attention to detail with first class communication and organization skills. Strong IT skills, with proficiency using MS Office. A solid working history demonstrating loyalty and commitment to an employer. A proven track record, with relevant examples of where you can demonstrate the above competencies. A full driving licence with flexibility to travel monthly. Why would you want to work here?!
