Peer Support Coordinator . Crisis House is a community-based crisis service, working to a recovery model with the aim to reduce the amount of A&E and hospital admissions through evidence-based CBT interventions. We provide a range of intervention support and are partnered with the NHS, working alongside the Home Treatment Team who offer clinical governance. Additionally, we offer services for people with mental ill health to become more connected to their local community, building on their social engagement. with a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. Right now, SLAM Crisis House is looking for someone like you to join us as Peer Support Coordinator. Your challenge will be to work with the service manager, peer support volunteers, and clients to develop an efficient and effective Peer Support Service. This includes recruiting and supporting a network of volunteers who have used mental health services to help others on their recovery journey, developing organisational policies, procedures, protocols, and systems to underpin the provision of peer support across the business. Identifying and implementing training, promoting the service to stakeholders, and operating a fully compliant service to agreed budget are all aspects of this challenging role. To succeed, you'll need a good understanding of the Recovery and Personalisation agenda and the principles and practices on which mental health services are run. Experience of recruiting and/or supervising volunteers would be useful, although not essential. You must have a proven ability to consult, liaise, and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues and a wide range of external organisations, along with a flexible approach to working hours. Well-organised and self-motivated, good problem and decision-making skills are vital, as is an innate ability to cope with personal stress.
