We’re BDO. An accountancy and business advisory firm, providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today’s changing world.

We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high‑growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

Our greatest asset is our people, so our HR team focus on ensuring we are all reaching our potential. They use their specialist expertise to help us attract great talent, enable our employees to succeed and inspire a unified culture of development across our firm. By playing a role in the recruitment and management of our people, they help change lives and influence the future of BDO.  Join a driven and passionate team where you can be yourself, while also helping your colleagues to achieve their ambitions.

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

This Manager role is a learning and development role working across the business to design and deliver our firmwide core skills offering. It will include business partnering with a particular business area and a focus on our Manager and Assistant Manager populations.

In this role you’ll:

  • Design and deliver our new core professional skills offering from Early in Careers (EiC) to Director working with SME across the business.  A focus on creativity and innovation.
  • Embed a Digital Mindset and a Data Mindset into our central learning offering through collaboration with the Data Office and our LearnIT and Innovation teams.
  • Design and deliver learning solutions based on best practice design to engage our learners and to support and embed learning on the job.
  • Work with external providers as appropriate to ensure learning is embedded and leveraged across the business.
  • Ensure our core learning offering is clearly communicated and understood, that it is championed by senior leaders and builds our learning culture.
  • Monitor and measure the impact and effectiveness of our learning programmes.  Report on outcomes and return on investment.
  • Build close relationships with the Stream People Partner, HR team and Knowledge and Learning Team - understand the Stream people priorities and learning needs to ensure these are reflected in our core skills offering.
  • Bring learning SME to support with root cause analysis to identify the best way forward to support effective change.
  • Build our reputation as a Centre of Expertise for learning and raise the profile of our offering and capabilities within the Stream.
  • Be responsible for the design of our Firmwide Induction programme for experienced hires in consultation with key stakeholders across the business.  Working closely with our Operations team and WorkDay team to deliver.
  • Manage and oversee our learning offering for our Manager and Assistant Manager populations.
  • Ensure a structured and tailored approach to core skills to build on our Early Careers offering.
  • Analyse learning and development needs for these populations to ensure our offering meets these needs and is aligned to the firm’s strategic priorities.

You’ll be someone with:

  • Expert knowledge and expertise in learning and development methodologies and tools.
  • Experience of a professional service business or a similar regulated environment preferred.
  • Deep experience of and passion for facilitating and delivering skills workshops.
  • Experience of design thinking methodology and of coaching skills and mindset preferred.
  • A creative and innovative mindset and the ability to design and deliver engaging and impactful learning and development solutions.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to understand how best to align our offering to meet business ambitions.
  • Strong collaboration and project management skills, to ensure a creative design process across a range of stakeholders.
  • Coaching qualification preferred.

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We’re committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand.
