People Manager – Tech Startup, London Are you an HR professional looking for an exciting standalone role in a tech environment? Our client, an innovative startup based in London, is seeking a proactive and hands-on HR Manager to join their team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an HR generalist who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced settings and is ready to build and drive HR processes from the ground up. About the Role As the HR Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our client’s operations, partnering closely with the Founders to support their ambitious growth plans. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys a varied workload, is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and can handle everything from recruitment and onboarding to policy development, performance management, and employee engagement. This role requires someone who can think strategically but also has the practical skills to manage day-to-day HR functions. You’ll have the chance to make a real impact, shaping the company culture and HR strategy while contributing directly to the success of a pioneering tech company. Key Responsibilities HR Strategy Development : Collaborate with the Founders to design and implement a people strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives and values. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding : Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing and screening to onboarding, to ensure a seamless candidate and new joiner experience. Employee Engagement & Retention : Lead initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment, ensuring employees feel valued and supported. Performance Management : Design and implement performance review processes, providing guidance to managers and employees to drive continuous improvement. Policy Development : Establish and maintain HR policies and practices that support compliance and reflect the company’s ethos. HR Operations : Handle the day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, payroll coordination, and benefits administration. Who They’re Looking For Our client is looking for a self-starter with a solid HR background in fast-moving environments, ideally in the tech industry. You’ll need a genuine interest in fostering a supportive and high-performing culture and be comfortable working closely with leadership in a standalone capacity. Requirements: Proven experience in a standalone HR Manager role or similar. Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices. Experience in a tech startup or similar high-growth environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to adapt and prioritise in a rapidly changing environment.
