About the role We are looking for a motivated and experienced People Operations Manager to lead our People Operations team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of an outstanding HR transactional service, focusing on maximising operational efficiency and enhancing the quality of customer service for managers and staff across the University. Reporting directly to the Head of People Operations, you will manage the workload of the team, ensuring that all HR operational transactions, including monthly payroll preparation and data input, are completed accurately and on time. You will ensure compliance with Ravensbourne’s policies, UKVI Compliance and HMRC regulations, maintaining all necessary records and ensuring staff are correctly paid. As the subject expert, you will handle complex queries related to terms and conditions of employment and payroll, supporting the Operations team in resolving issues and liaising with the payroll team when needed. Working closely with the Head of People Operations, the broader People & Culture team, and colleagues in Finance/Payroll, you will liaise effectively with all types of employees across the University, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. About you To excel in this role, you will need substantial experience in HR operations, with a proven ability to manage HR transactional services within a complex organisation. Your expertise in handling HR processes and payroll systems, combined with a thorough understanding of UK employment laws and HM Revenue & Customs regulations, will be essential. You should have experience managing a team and be capable of delivering high-quality HR services while effectively handling multiple priorities. Your expertise in data management and reporting will be vital in this role. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will work closely with different departments to ensure smooth coordination. You should be highly organised and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset focused on enhancing HR services and cultivating a supportive team atmosphere.
