The difference you will make as a Performance Manager You will manage the approach to performance management for Asset Management, leading a small team responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting out on performance and business effectiveness strategies and standards, ensuring underperformance is identified and addressed effectively to deliver the Asset Management Strategy and overall Group objectives. About you We are looking for someone who: Has experience within the building industry, ideally working within a customer focused Business Management team. Has comprehensive knowledge of general operating procedures within an Asset Management function. The knowledge and experience of quality assessment frameworks and techniques. Role Profile Develop, implement and review the performance framework including setting and monitoring of key performance and targets to ensure a quality Asset Management service is delivered and continually improved. Lead, motivate and engage with your team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service by regularly reviewing work outputs, setting improvement targets and appraising individual performance. Monitor, review and report progress to key stakeholders including senior managers on performance against the Asset Management Strategy and underpinning delivery plans, ensuring appropriate actions are implemented to address underperformance. Monitor performance against legal, regulatory and Group requirements, standards, policies and procedures, ensuring effective ongoing compliance. Review performance, leading on performance improvement initiatives, including identifying action planning required to address underperformance, ensuring the promotion of a performance culture and effective use of management information. Own the integrity and quality of data and the content of internal reporting and statutory, regulatory or other external reporting, ensuring cyclical and ad hoc reports contain accurate and meaningful information. Ensure the provision of a suite of accurate and timely reports to key stakeholders including the regional teams, with detailed analysis of performance data, highlighting trends, issues and potential risks, for review at regular performance meetings and to input into decision making as required. Carry out the auditing of services delivered including internal and external providers, ensuring the integrity of data collected and collated for analysis and reporting as required. Identify, evaluate and communicate relevant legal and regulatory changes, benchmarking findings and external good practice to identify and drive service improvement opportunities. Ensure the development and management of the required IT infrastructure for Asset Management including the electronic retention of performance data, to ensure all documentation and data is effectively input, retained and extracted as required. Ensure up to date Asset Management policies and procedures are implemented, communicated and utilised, identifying areas where amendments are required as a result of legislative changes, policy updates or customer and stakeholder needs. Embed a performance management and customer focused culture within Asset Management to ensure effective service delivery of the business function. Ensure that services provided to Asset Management customers by internal and external suppliers meet agreed quality and performance standards, addressing shortfalls where appropriate and contributing to the resolution of escalated complaints. Provide a consultative service to management colleagues, including the Head of Business Management and the Director of Asset Strategy and Delivery on sensitive and complex Performance Management matters. Manage internal and external stakeholders effectively, building constructive working relationships to deliver an effective service on behalf of the Group. Develop and review relevant budgets, ensuring expenditure is robustly managed in line with the Group’s financial controls. Manage the performance and development of your team providing expertise, coaching and other developmental support as required, ensuring a quality service is provided and underperformance is dealt with appropriately. Conduct regular reviews of the Performance Management service, collaborating with and seeking feedback from key stakeholders to continually improve the service provision. Improvement opportunities identified and realised should be in accordance with change management protocols. Work collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure effective delivery of the wider service. Ensure that all data protection requirements are met in accordance with the Group’s policy, procedures and statutory requirements. Person specification Has experience within the building industry, ideally working within a customer focused Business Management team. Has comprehensive knowledge of general operating procedures within an Asset Management function. The knowledge and experience of quality assessment frameworks and techniques. Has the ability to interpret business requirements using a variety of data. Is results driven with strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically analyse complex information, and experience of providing meaningful management information. Has an understanding of data protection and data quality principles. Has effective presentation skills to a variety of audiences. Has experience of successfully leading, managing and motivating teams, including managing team performance. Has effective stakeholder management, both internally and external to the organisation, including the ability to successfully persuade and influence others. Is commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to drive change. Is customer focused with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work at all levels within the business. Has excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, deliver to strict deadlines and manage conflicting priorities. Evidence of using sound judgement when making effective decisions. Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel. Desirable Relevant building, maintenance, compliance or facilities management qualification e.g. HNC in Building or NEBOSH General, or equivalent. About Us
