The Gloucestershire Perinatal Mental Health Team offers specialist mental health care to women and birthing people experiencing moderate and severe illness during the perinatal period.
Due to expansion of the service, an additional clinical lead role is needed to support the team.
The purpose of the Perinatal Lead Practitioner role is to be part of the leadership team to ensure the effective provision of the service. The post holder will work across the Specialist Perinatal Community Team providing clinical leadership, supervision, and training.
The role will involve collaboration with service users, carers, and partnership agencies, providing training and advice and deputising for the Operational Manager as required in the absence of the Deputy Operational Manager.
Clinically, the Perinatal Lead Practitioner will demonstrate enhanced competence in complex decision making, assessment, and the management of needs.
The post holder will provide practical advice and support to the team, supporting with specialist care, family work, and leading on safeguarding issues.
