The North Perinatal Mental Health Team supports women with severe or complex mental health conditions who are planning pregnancy, pregnant, or have a child under one. We provide high-quality, evidence-based specialist advice, assessment, and interventions. If you are successful in your application, you will be working in our North Hub, which operates across Peterborough, Huntingdon, and Wisbech. If you are successful, you will: Work with mothers, their infants, and families who are at risk of or experiencing severe and complex perinatal mental health conditions. Manage a caseload as a care coordinator, developing care plans and liaising with family members and other professionals. Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities. Be part of the development of the Countywide Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service. Work directly with women, their infants, and families at risk of or experiencing severe and complex perinatal mental health conditions. Contribute to the development and delivery of Perinatal Mental Health Training and Education. Participate in safeguarding adult enquiries and complete safeguarding lead training. Provide medication advice and information within competency. Supervise junior staff. Work jointly with staff from other services and provide specialist advice. Attend professional meetings to offer advice. Develop relationships with key stakeholders including maternity services and health visiting. Provide care coordination and specialist perinatal initial assessments. Person specification

Education / Qualifications

HCPC or NMC Professional Registration. Post qualification specialist mental health training. Post registration training relevant to the service area. Experience

Experience of inter-agency working. Experience of developing user and carer involvement. Experience of working with patients who have mental health difficulties. Experience in managing complex cases. Experience working in a Perinatal setting. Experience as a care coordinator in a mental health setting. Experience of managing and training staff. Skills & Abilities

Able to assess people with complex mental health problems and develop care plans. Able to maintain comprehensive patient records accurately. Able to independently manage a caseload. Able to manage conflict and change. Able to manage pressure in an intensive environment. Ability to develop and lead new initiatives. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1983/2007). Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable children and adults. Understanding of the parent-infant relationship.
