Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician - Basingstoke/Guildford Area Location:

Basingstoke/Guildford (with UK-wide travel required) Full-Time:

37.5 hours per week

My client, a leading provider of health and wellness services, is seeking an Occupational Health Technician to join their growing peripatetic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering health surveillance services across various client sites throughout the UK while operating a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU).

This is a great opportunity for someone based in the Basingstoke/Guildford area who is looking for a rewarding role with frequent travel and the chance to develop their skills in a supportive environment. The role will involve regular overnight stays, and candidates should be comfortable with travel and working away from home for around 3 out of 4 weeks per month, with weekends off to return home.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct health surveillance screenings, including audiometry, lung function tests, drug and alcohol testing, and general health assessments (height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis). Ensure accurate recording of medical information in occupational health records, which will be passed to relevant clinical staff. Maintain equipment in a serviceable, clean, and fit-for-purpose condition. Support additional health promotion activities and other tasks as needed. Assist the occupational health team in maintaining smooth department operations by performing non-clinical tasks such as filing and tidying. Ensure all information gathered is accurately recorded and shared with the relevant team members. The Occupational Health Technician's role focuses on gathering biometric data to support clinical decision-making. Results will be interpreted by nursing and physician staff, except in the case of drug and alcohol testing, where training will be provided to interpret results.

Skills & Experience: Strong time management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of health promotion and GDPR compliance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-motivated and capable of managing time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and meeting strict deadlines. Approachable with good interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in health surveillance is desirable. Full, clean driving license is required.

Location & Travel Requirements: This role requires frequent travel throughout the UK, with regular overnight stays. Candidates must be based in the Basingstoke/Guildford area and have the ability to park the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) at or near their home address when not in use.

Salary & Benefits: Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum, depending on experience. Contributory pension scheme (up to 6%). Life assurance. Starting 25 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service. Discounted gym membership. Cycle to work scheme. Access to Vitality Health.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic, reliable, and looking to grow within the field of occupational health while contributing to the health and wellbeing of employees across the UK. Apply now. #J-18808-Ljbffr
