Job ref: LCSJAN03 Lothian Childcare Solutions are recruiting a Baby Room Lead on behalf of Kidzcare at Norwood House nursery, which is situated in the beautiful Grange area of Edinburgh, very close by to Marchmont. Kidzcare is the first Employee-Owned Childcare Company in Scotland, having made the move to employee ownership in January 2022. Norwood House is an elegant Georgian townhouse registered for 66 children per day aged from 3 months to 5 years. They are open from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday. This role would be full-time time which is 4 working days between Monday and Friday working 38 hours per week. The day off is flexible. They are recruiting a dedicated, fun, nurturing, committed and experienced person to join their team. The successful candidate will become the Blossoms Room Leader (0-18 months) and work in partnership with the staff team in the room to co-ordinate planning, day-to-day organisation, and operation of the nursery room. The role is to assist in providing high-quality play opportunities and care for up to 9 children in an inclusive environment and in accordance with the ethos of Kidzcare. The successful applicant will be subject to a PVG check and must also be willing to register with the SSSC and meet registration conditions. Main Duties Include: Have professional knowledge of young children and be aware and act upon the individual children’s needs within the nursery. Impart this knowledge onto the team by demonstrating and sharing good practice. Develop a stable, friendly, and trusting relationship with the children. Ensure the staff team mirror this relationship. Have a good working knowledge of the child-centred approach, and the relevant curriculum for your age group and impart this knowledge to the team. Plan and provide a variety of stimulating play and development opportunities and activities which will aid the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of the children in line with the relevant curriculum. This should incorporate children’s next steps Work in partnership with parents and external agencies. Communicate with the whole staff team and ensure Blossoms is a positive and happy place to be for staff, parents and children.
