The practices have a range of additional facilities for the team to draw uponBehaviouristsPhysiotherapistsHydrotherapy pools and instructorsAgility instructors and dedicated arenaLarge pet shops on the sitesLarge animal and equine shop Grooming facilities on the sitesDeliveries free of charge to all customersPractices own publication to promote good pet care and the practices servicesTeam: 25+ Veterinary Surgeons and 35+ RVNSRole Summary: They are looking for an experienced equine veterinary surgeon to join their team of five equine and large animal veterinary surgeons. The group has 26 veterinary surgeons and a new intake of graduate vets each year who join the equine and small animal teams.Duties: As an equine veterinary surgeon, you will routinely cover the treatment of horses and donkeys.Work to include (not exclusive)Lameness work upsDentistryEndoscopeMinor surgeryRadiographyRoutine workBlood samplesVettingsJMB measurementsVaccinationsWound managementHealth checkupsSkin conditionsStud work (if interested)Hours: Full-time, with a start time of 08.15 amThe day starts at 08.30 and finishes at 17.30, with an hour for lunch.One night a week on call (emergencies only): 17.30 08.30 the next day.Two weekends in six, with two days back as days off: 08.30 Sat 08.30 Monday.A nurse takes the emergency phone calls and will contact the vet if necessary.Essential Skills and Qualifications:MRCVS qualificationRCVS registrationUp-to-date CPD recordYou must have a strong work ethic and provide a high standard of clinical service.You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and team members.Being a team player is highly important for the role along with good organisational skills.Full UK driving licence.You will enjoy working within a busy practice with a wide variety of cases.Emergency out-of-hours work may include an occasional small holding animal (i.e. goat/alpaca).Salary: The successful applicant can expect to work in a happy and supportive environment with excellent remuneration and CPD packages, as well as a flexible rota.
