Job description This advertisement is not just about stereotypical care! You do not need to be a stereotypical care worker. You do not need any previous experience in providing support or care to do this job. I deem care and providing physical assistance as two different entities, as there is a huge amount of associated stigma with the word “care”. This job involves providing me with physical assistance to empower me to live my best life. I instruct you how to carry out tasks and you carry them out to the best of your ability. What I'm seeking in a candidate: A conversationalist with interests in history, politics, philosophy, science, psychology, sociology, football, music (across all genres), and UFC. No prior experience needed; I can guide you on how to handle tasks. Someone willing to assist me to the best of their ability, hopefully fostering a friendship in the process. A good sense of humor; I'm not easily offended. Someone who enjoys deep discussions about our world when I'm not busy. This position offers an opportunity to join my small team of personal assistants. While compatibility is key, you should also be capable of working independently to maintain organisation and cleanliness in my home and assist me in various aspects of my life to maximise productivity. Essentially, the role revolves around aiding me in achieving my long-term goals. I'm an Astrophysics student and Information Advisor who embraces all aspects of university life and work. I enjoy coffee outings, music concerts, political and scientific gatherings, optimising productivity, career advancement, football, UFC, museum visits, heritage site explorations, and occasional nights out. If any of these resonate with you, you might just have found your ideal job. The role involves acting as my hands, as I'm unable to perform physical tasks due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy (type 2). Tasks may include cooking, eating, dressing, personalised support, and driving ( Preferable ). Flexibility is required, especially for covering holidays and absences of other PAs, and occasional travel may be an aspect of this role.

However, commitment to a shift pattern is the primary requirement. If this sounds like a role you'd thrive in, I'd love to hear from you! As a personal assistant, your duty will be to facilitate my personal, domestic, and social activities. You'll work under my direction to provide the necessary physical assistance, always prioritising my requests and acting upon my directives. Handling physical tasks such as hoisting, handling, pushing, pulling, and bending is expected, but being physically strong isn't a prerequisite—good overall health and stamina are what matter most. This advertisement is for night shifts (Friday and Saturday) plus additional cover available (7:30pm until 7:30am) Job Type:
