Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone with a learning disability to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be! Each person we support has different support needs, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections. Charlie : Charlie is a young man looking for a team that has diverse skills and can enjoy getting involved in all activities that he takes part in. Charlie is also looking for a staff member who has a good sense of humour like himself, who is confident and outgoing. Charlie enjoys meeting up with friends to participate in activities and going to clubs; he is also a big fan of football, especially Manchester City FC. Charlie is deaf and likes people to communicate with British Sign Language - training can be provided. Charlie can also use a communication device to assist him to communicate with his staff, which is done by a micro dot on his glasses that connects to the screen on the communication device. We currently support Charlie on a Wednesday 10:30am-8:30pm and Friday 9:30am-5:30pm, and we can also support Charlie 10:30am-10:30pm if he has an activity in the evening. Charlie can get support occasionally on a Saturday too. That is why Charlie needs you! Will you bring
