I am an older lady living in Hawick with my beloved cat. I am looking for an additional PA to provide evening cover between 5pm and 6pm on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays each week. I have Alzheimer’s and require assistance to get ready for bed, which may include some personal care. You need to be patient and caring, and I would prefer someone who can demonstrate awareness of the support required by people with Alzheimer’s.
Tasks:
Assist me with personal care if required, and help me to get ready for bed.
Ensure I am comfortable and safe once settled into bed.
Tidy up as you go, and ensure my home is secure when you leave.
Skills/Experience:
Previous experience of Alzheimer care preferred, although personal insight would also be acceptable.
You will be cheerful and self-motivated with a good sense of humour.
You will be honest, reliable and respectful of the need for confidentiality at all times.
You will be comfortable around my cat.
It would be beneficial if you could be flexible and able to cover for other PA holidays, sickness, and days off.
Hours of Work:
Every Monday, Thursday, and Friday between 5p.m and 6p.m.
Occasional holiday/sickness cover following discussion.
Rate of Pay:
£12.50 per hour.
5.6 weeks A/L calculated on a pro rata basis.
Subject to satisfactory references and PVG update.
