We require a Personal Assistant to undertake secretarial and administrative duties supporting the General Manager and the Clinical Director. You will be based within the Surgical Directorate Office at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

We are looking for an experienced Personal Assistant who has worked to senior managers within a large organisation (preferably within the NHS).

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, is essential along with advanced keyboard skills. Minute taking is a part of this role; therefore, shorthand skills would be advantageous but not essential.

You must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and under pressure. There may be a requirement to work flexibly and adapt readily to change. Good organisational skills are essential.

A level of English language competency and excellent communication skills (both verbal & written) are necessary to perform the role safely and effectively.

Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. The secondment policy can be found here Hub • Blink (joinblink.com). If you do not have approval for a secondment from your current line manager, you will not be able to progress your application for a fixed-term post. External applicants, with continuous NHS Service, must also have in place a secondment agreement from their existing board to apply for this post.

For informal enquiries, please contact Mrs Mims Watts, General Manager, on 01592 643355 ext 21549 or Mrs Roz Vaughan, Office Manager, on 01592 643355 ext 21456.

NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
