We are currently recruiting a Personal Assistant/Support Worker to support a 9-year-old girl from Brampton, who has a diagnosis of Autism and Learning Disabilities.
The girl is non-verbal; however, she communicates using hand gestures. She is mostly independent with personal care tasks but will allow someone to support her once a trusting relationship has been built.
The role will involve supporting the girl in her home environment and out in the local community in addition to a variety of keen interests and activities including (but not limited to):
Trampolining
Running
Climbing
Sensory based tasks
The girl has a regimented routine and is very sensitive to certain noises, so the ideal candidate would need to be patient and understanding to help diffuse any challenging behaviour that may occur.
The young girl is also very affectionate and has high energy levels; therefore, the ideal candidate would need to be comfortable with this and be able to keep up with her high levels of activity.
Experience working with and understanding children living with disabilities is essential for this role.
Candidates must also hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle with adequate business insurance.
