14 hours per week - (2 Days and hours to be negotiated.) Will include a Sunday. Purpose of the Job We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Assistant to provide support and supervision to a young man (23 years old) with cerebral palsy. Your role will enable the main carers to have some respite. He has been supported by a steady team of care staff for the last 4 years, and due to additional funding, we are looking to employ another person to help him access and enjoy local leisure facilities such as the cinema, dining out, day trips, bowling, etc. He has his own mobility car, so a valid driving license is essential. Key Responsibilities Work alongside the employer (parent) and shadow his current carers until trust and confidence are established. Then you will work independently. Support the young man in various activities both inside and outside his home. Use your initiative and local knowledge to explore and find activities that he may enjoy or new places to visit. Drive and accompany him to various activities using his mobility car. Carry out any other reasonable requests made by the employer to support the young man. Supervision As a Personal Assistant, you will be directed by the employer (parent) and will be accountable to them in all aspects of your work. Support Provide companionship and ensure the young man's well-being. Assist in any chosen activity, whether indoor or outdoor. Explore new activities and places that may interest the young man. Any relevant training will be provided Essential Requirements Driving License:
