Personal Care Assistant for a gentleman- 16 hours a week

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to a 51-year-old gentleman with Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus, living in the Billingham area. The gentleman is a wheelchair user and is slide transferred with the assistance of one. No hoisting is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help others. Days and hours: 16 hours a week over 6 days. Cover for holidays and sickness in addition to this. Some flexibility with times of support. This can be discussed in more detail at interview. Duties Assist the client with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support the client in following their individual care plans to ensure their specific needs are met. Drive the client to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties as needed. Requirements Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with the client and team members. Ability to follow care plans meticulously while adapting to the changing needs of the client. A valid driving licence is desirable but not essential. A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality personal care.
