Care Manager seeking Personal Assistants/Support Workers to be part of a 24/7 Care Team for a Disabled Man who leads a normal life with full time job. Do you have the right to work in the UK? It’s not an office PA, and it’s not just a carer or support worker. It’s an exciting role where in time you become an essential member of the team. You will wear many hats; carer, companion, support worker, driver, physio, housekeeper, and chef, to name but a few. You’ll join an existing established supportive welcoming team and share the weekly responsibilities of enabling a man with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 to lead the life he wants and deserves. He is a friendly, kind-hearted man with a good sense of humour. In time his carers become part of his extended family with existing staff having worked with him for 14 years or more. We are not a company, it’s a private individual in his own home but you get employment rights like any other job. Your salary is funded by the NHS and DWP, this provides job and financial security. 42 hours per week on full time contract (or pro rata if job sharing) combination of days, nights, and shared weekends (1 in 4) with 12 - 48-hour shifts. We try to work with the people we have to be flexible and fair. Job share and part time considered. We don’t have capacity for just night staff currently. Salary starting £25,000.00 per year with potential to earn £30,000+ when reach full role capabilities. The type of person The ideal candidate is someone with a steady life, who is capable, mature and has life experience. Experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker or Health Care Assistant is beneficial, but if you do not have any experience but feel you can offer what we are looking for and make a difference, we will provide full training and continued support. A can-do caring attitude is important to us. Key Attributes Friendly, dedicated, caring and supportive Energetic and hard working Flexible and adaptable to change Reliable team member with a positive attitude Main responsibilities: Providing all personal care Feeding and fluid management Toileting (no catheters) Help in setting up computer for full day of work and attending meetings (all over UK) when required Cooking a variety of healthy meals and cuisines Support physical well-being (physio/stretching/swimming/exercise) Where you will work Your main place of work will be a well-adapted bungalow, with integrated hoists and a voice recognition system allowing for independent living. You will make a difference every day by supporting him to pursue his professional full-time occupation and lead an active social life that involves swimming, following his favourite football team and socialising with friends and family. Whilst he predominantly works from home, you will be asked to support him with a visit in various cities across the UK for both work and pleasure. Support for you You will be supported by our Care manager, who is in place to offer: Support and guidance On-going training, including Basic, life support, Manual handling, relevant courses suitable for ensuring best practice of care Team meetings Performance reviews What we offer in return for your hard work and dedication: Highly competitive rates of pay starting from £11.50, during probation Potential to increase to £15 per hour, dependent on experience and capability as part of regular pay reviews Overtime and enhanced rates of pay depending on activity (for example if he needs to be up early for work, before 6am double time) Enhancement to pay on bank holidays, weekends, and unsocial hours Loyalty bonus £1,000 bonus for years’ service Free DBS checks Meals can be provided if desired at reduced rate Free on-site parking If you are interested and want a
