Hours:
20 hours per week, to be broken down as follows:
Monday – Friday 7.00 – 8.30am; and 7.00-8.30pm Saturday & Sunday 9.00-10.30am; and 7.00-8.00pm Evening times can be flexible and will be arranged with the employer. During school holidays these hours can be used more flexibly.
Role Responsibilities:
I am a full-time powered wheelchair user who needs help with day-to-day living. I have a neuro-muscular condition which means I am unable to stand or walk, and I have limited strength in my arms. In all other ways I am a teenager just like any other – I love to read, write poetry and sing. I enjoy musical theatre, going to the movies, shopping and meeting up with friends for coffee.
I’d love to find someone who could provide the care I need as well as in future enable me to access activities in the community.
I need help with personal care such as showering, dressing and toileting using mobility aids and hoists. Previous experience with hoisting is not necessary as full training will be provided.
The area I live in is well served by buses and trains. A driving license is useful, but not essential.
