Personal Care Assistant for a Young Person
Location: Morpeth Hours: 18 hr/wk @ £13.09/hr (FTE - £25.5k)
Job Overview: To provide support for a 27-year-old young man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, enabling him to access the community and maintain his independence while providing personal care.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care
Support with enabling independence
Assist with activities and hobbies
Ensure safety when out and about
Support with the assistance dog, including walks and vet visits
Proactively suggest community activities
Person Specification:
Experience working as a support worker with adults, especially those with physical disabilities
Positive understanding towards people with disabilities
Genuine interest in social care
High degree of initiative
Punctual and reliable
Flexible
Happy, positive, and caring nature
Respect confidentiality
Car driver preferable; must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by the employer.
