Role Overview: To provide support for 18 hours per week to a 27-year-old young man with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy who is a full-time wheelchair user. Your role will be to enable his independence, supporting him to access the community and participate in activities he enjoys, while also providing personal care.
Key Responsibilities: Personal Care Support with enabling independence Assist with taking part in activities and pursuing hobbies and interests Ensure safety when out and about Meal Preparation Domestic Care Social and Leisure Activities Support to remain independent
Person Specification: The successful applicant must:
Ideally have experience working as a support worker with adults, especially those with physical disabilities Have a positive understanding towards people with disabilities Have a genuine interest in working within social care Have a high degree of initiative Be punctual and reliable Be flexible Have a happy, positive, and caring nature Respect confidentiality
Additional Requirements: Car driver preferable and must have business insurance. An Enhanced DBS Check is required, cost to be met by the employer.

Essential PA Guide Safeguarding Adults/Children Moving & Handling Food Hygiene First Aid Hand Hygiene
Transportation:
Full UK driving license Own personal car
Medical:
Safe Administration of Medication Continence Care
Rate of Pay:
