Harvey, born in 2012, is a very energetic young boy who enjoys trips to Costa coffee, swimming, horse riding, playing outside, and gaming. Harvey lives with his mother, father, and elder brother who are all very important to him. He has a large circle of family and friends who live close by and loves get-togethers (especially if they involve late-night dancing!).

Harvey has physical and learning difficulties which mean he requires additional support to participate in activities he enjoys as well as his personal care. Your role as a Personal Assistant will be to support Harvey in participating in and enjoying a range of leisure activities within the community and at home. You will be required to use your own initiative to ensure Harvey has suitable support when out and about and to assist him with personal care and daily living activities at home. You will be supported by Harvey's Case Manager and parents to ensure Harvey's activities are risk assessed, safe, and in line with his choices.

Harvey's personal assistant would be expected to independently support with all aspects of his care after school and at bedtime and to promote Harvey's learning while enabling his independence. The role would also involve assisting with client-related domestic tasks and working cooperatively with Harvey's parents. You would also be required to implement strategies/follow therapy programmes devised by his treating therapists to assist Harvey in developing his independence. Support and training will be provided by Harvey's treating therapists and Case Manager, meaning this role will provide excellent opportunities for a dedicated person to develop existing skills while supporting a fun and engaging boy.

This is a truly rewarding role for someone who can communicate effectively and has the ability to work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth, and compassion.
