R_283103 Personal Injury / Health and Safety Legal Consultant Marsh Advisory’s Defensibility & Regulatory Team is seeking candidates for the Personal Injury / Health and Safety Defensibility & Regulatory Consultant position based in the UK in our Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Bristol offices. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. The Defensibility & Regulatory Team works with the full range of Marsh’s clients from FTSE 100 companies to family-owned businesses, charities and local authorities. We help clients to better understand the full extent of their legal liabilities and put them in a better position to defend civil and regulatory action. The regulatory law we assist with relates to action taken by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). We will count on you to:

Provide clients with bespoke advice by undertaking detailed reviews of their current practice. Improve the knowledge of senior leaders and other key stakeholders by delivering training (including Mock Trials). In addition to client delivery, our consultants spend time with our Marsh colleagues to improve their understanding of the legal landscape and to better position our work. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your legal training to advise clients in a non-contentious space, whilst at the same time gaining knowledge of the insurance industry. Join a dynamic team of former solicitors, with a broad range of legal experience, including personal injury (claimant and defence) and regulatory defence. On joining, you will spend the first three months learning about the work, delivering under supervision and meeting key stakeholders within the wider Marsh network. Once you have shown you can carry out the work you will be able to start delivering independently. Manage your own diary and projects. You will therefore need to be organised and self-motivated. Not only deliver work, but also market our services and bring in additional revenue by developing relationships with clients and colleagues. This is a great opportunity for those with an entrepreneurial spirit and good inter-personal skills. What you need to have:

Qualified solicitor or Legal Executive in England, Wales, Scotland or Republic of Ireland. Experience in bringing or defending personal injury claims. Experience in defending companies and/or individuals from Health and Safety Prosecutions. Be comfortable presenting to large groups and be capable of fielding ad-hoc technical questions. What makes you stand out?

Previous experience delivering a similar role at another broker or similar insurance background. Proven skills of delivering presentations and/or training to clients. Experience of business development. CII qualifications or desire to work towards these. Why join our team:

We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders. We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities. Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
