Accountancy Practice and Tax recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently recruiting on behalf of a rapidly expanding, leading regional firm of chartered accountants who are looking to add an experienced and driven Personal Tax Manager to the team in their Bromsgrove office.

You will form an integral part of the firm’s tax offering and will work closely with the Partners. You will have responsibility for overseeing Tax Seniors and Trainees within the team which will see you reviewing their work and providing support and guidance to them as necessary.

You will work with a diverse array of clients and will be responsible for ensuring that all compliance work is completed accurately and efficiently. You may occasionally have responsibility for undertaking compliance work for the more complex clients within the portfolio as required. The majority of your day to day role will be focused on the review of tax returns prepared by other members of the team.

There will also be a strong element of tax advisory work involved in the role, with you providing guidance and tax planning services to clients.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in a solely tax focused role and may be CTA Qualified or ATT Qualified with significant managerial experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Dealing with complex tax matters and providing clear concise advice to clients.

Managing a portfolio of clients and taking responsibility to ensure any compliance deadlines are met and work completed to a high standard.

Work and liaise with the clients directly to understand their requirements, and also identify areas where more detailed advice may be required.

Liaising with internal teams (such as accounts, payroll, business management) to ensure clients' affairs are coordinated and delivered on time.

Identify opportunities for any additional services that clients may need and liaise with subject specialists.

Being able to manage and navigate HMRC enquiries on behalf of clients.

Providing guidance and assistance to junior members of the team, where needed.

Responsibility for the billing of clients within your portfolio, and associated debt collection.

Involvement with Business Development opportunities, and internal Tax Technical Training sessions.

Skills:

CTA Qualified would be ideal.

ATT Qualified with significant managerial experience will be considered.

Strong Personal Tax experience within a practice environment is essential.
