As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will undertake general supply and inventory management duties within the Pharmacy Department. You will support and assist all members in the Pharmacy Team while being expected to work towards a Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (with our support). The role requires that applicants have (or are willing to undertake) General Pharmaceutical Council approved qualifications in Pharmacy Services or equivalent as a minimum. You should possess good communication, literacy, numeric, and basic computer skills, and have a positive attitude to work. The successful applicant will participate in the late night, weekend, and bank holiday rota. In addition, you will have strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organizational skills to form part of our Pharmacy Team. Our values are

Dispense prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain and process the Pharmacy virtual Outpatient clinic prescriptions. Assist in the delivery of dispensed items to the wards and departments. Ensure the correct storage of the medication, good stock rotation, and monitor and check for expiry dates. Ensure that any to-follow or out-of-stock issues are promptly and accurately reported to both the procurement and distribution managers. Sort, file, and archive prescriptions and other relevant paper as advised as per standard operating procedures. Ensure that any to-follow items are sent as soon as possible and any discrepancies checked. Ensure the availability of sufficient stock and sundries/consumables to the dispensary and ward stock distribution areas. Answer the telephone and refer clinical queries to the appropriate trained staff member. Maintain good customer service at all times. Ensure that the appropriate manual and computer records are amended when stock is transferred and that stock discrepancies are either corrected immediately or reported to a senior member of staff. Carry out daily stock checks against the computer-generated monitoring sheets for stock audit. Ensure that any discrepancies are reported. Record all prescriptions received onto the prescription tracking system and ensure that outpatients are kept up to date with accurate waiting times. Qualifications
GCSE (English & Maths C or above or 4-9). NVQ2 (pharmaceutical) or ability to work towards NVQ2 (pharmaceutical) within 6 months. Knowledge
Demonstrated accurate numeracy skills, without using a calculator, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication. Familiarity with Pharmacy services. Experience
IT literacy including core Office programs. Understanding of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups. Experience of working within the NHS. Values Based Question
